Will this “new” Margaritaville resort (it’s actually a rehab of an existing resort) be affiliated with Wyndham? I have read nothing to indicate that it will be, but given the Wyndham affiliation with other Margaritavilles, I thought I’d ask.

I'd say it's not likely. Somewhere around the time the Atlanta resort was being added we heard that Margaritaville isn't going to do any further partnerships with Wyndham.

In addition to that we recently learned that all CWA inventory at Rio Mar is being returned to Margaritaville. There are several possibilities as to why.

Not that I'm aware of. I had a sales rep at Rio Mar indicate that Wyndham is working on additional MVC resorts in the Caribbean - he seemed to be under the impression that was a work in progress and he seemed quite sure about it, he even specifically named Key West, the Bahamas and another location that I cannot recall at the moment, but I've definitely heard otherwise as others have already indicated here on the thread. Sales people tend to stretch the truth though (to put it mildly). Big picture, MVC resorts are the exception to the rule when it comes to participation in Margaritaville resorts as a whole. The majority of the Margaritaville resorts have no affiliation with MVC.

MVC is limited to 5 locations (only a 6th is available to MVC members only). The 5 locations are Rio Mar (PR), STT, Vegas, Nashville and Atlanta. There are 6 units in Pigeon Forge that are NO longer available to Wyndham but are not just limited to MVC.

I stayed there once when Wyndham was allowed to exchange in, but they have since cut it off, but with only 6 units at the entire resort, I can sortof see why.
