I am thinking about purchasing a Hilton Timeshare on Marco Island and we all know there are several to choose from.

I am looking to purchase for occupancy during the February or March time frame and I am seeking opinions as to which resort is preferable and why.

Obviously I am looking to buy only a resale unit (I think all the Developer weeks are sold out anyway).

We have vacationed on Marco for 10+ years and toured each of the 4 beachfront Hilton affiliates several times before we purchased. The 3 years prior to when we bought, the Eagles Nest was our favorite. The main reason for us was the fact we stayed the last 5 or 6 years at the Marriott and fell in love with the atmosphere of that resort and its restaurants, mainly "Quinns on the Beach" for after dinner drinks and dessert. The Eagles Nest is now between the Marriott Hotel and also will be within short walking distance to the upcoming Marriott Crystal Shores timeshare. Also, my wife liked the fact the Eagles Nest was the northernmost HGVC affiliate on the beach. Her favorite beach in the world is Tigertail Beach and she spends hours walking to the tip and bringing back seashells. Our opinion of the units are that there are no bad units in the entire facility. Sure there are some that are better than others, but none are bad views or locations.

Thanks for your insight. We are looking to check out the new Marriott Crystal Shores after it opens. I've never been to Marco Island, and your positive comments have helped.

You are going to pay a premium for the February-March time frame on Marco Island. We bought a float week at the Charter Club-but I believe that the float weeks there and at Eagles nest cover portions of January only, not February or March. We loved the Charter Club-the exterior is a little dated, buth the interiors are getting a redo over the next few years (and they are fine now). All units at the Charter Club face the Gulf-amazing views. There is also free sailing for members. I toured Eagles Nest and liked it as well-you won't go wrong with either of these.

Definitely look at Marriott. I just purchased there and I check out both Hilton Properties. There is definitely a difference. You pay for what you get. Marriott is building from the ground up and everything is five star! Hilton took over these properties and are manaaging eagles nest and charter club. Huge difference. I own two weeks with both Marriott and Hilton but Marriott Crystal Shores is definitely one of the nicest in the system. Let me know and I can put you in touch with my rep. Was definitely helpful and I can't wait to get back!

I am glad that you like your Crystal Shore purchase but in my opinion that property is seriously overpriced.

I'll be happy to trade in there if I'm able to, however I don't want to pay those big $$$ to buy there.

I'll stick with the cheaper Hilton properties, thank you.

You mean GROTESQUELY OVERPRICED!. I was shocked at what they were asking at Marriott Crystal Shores.

I am an owner of a winter flex (float) week at the Eagle's Nest (found it here on TUGS) and love the resort and of course Marco Island  . The winter flex weeks include weeks 5-16 and as was stated you will pay a premium for one, however they are better priced (or should be) than the winter fixed weeks which are weeks 1-13. The Eagle's Nest and the Charter Club both have on site agents to sell these weeks but it is still better to try to find them directly from an owner. If you would check with one of these agents at least you can find the market rate so to speak therefore you will know a good deal while searching otherwise. If the original poster wants more info I have some paper work left from when I was shopping. Just PM me and I will be glad to pass it on!

I stayed at Charter Club and toured Eagle's Nest last year. Both are nice but most units at CC have views and EN does not have views from all units from what the rep showed us but they have beach villa and the tower further back. Charter Club has a south and north tower and a nice pool and barebeque hut with a giant grill. North tower is closest to the beach. Decor was dated a bit but very clean. Beautiful beach and views at either spot.

I have the CC rep phone #. None of them are high pressure but the CC rep Jeanie is very ,very knowledable. Weeks 17-51 float although I thought my price chart had a few fixed summer weeks and of course fixed weeks are 3 times the price but still far less than the very pricey Marriott Crystal Shores next door. We were in unit 1006 North building top floor at Charter CLub. Staff was very helpful. Last year I saw float weeks sell on Ebay for $5k range and they were $7500 thru the resort with HVC membership. Resale winter fixed weeks were in the $15-$26 range.

The beach is wonderful at either location. EN is closer to Hilton and the wonderful Marriott Hotel and Spa. Marriott timeshare is next to Charter Club. Across from CC is a small plaza with a few nice restaurants.

Marco is just 20 minutes from Naples. Marco is a small picturesque island. Very clean and all the houses are cared for and painted in pretty pastels.

I would visit and tour both properties. Either would be a good choice.
