I have never stayed at either of these. I know the Original section appears to be more popular here, but can anyone tell me why? I see a week available at Sequel with an AC for the dates I want so it would only be $299, where as right now the only way I could get the original for the same dates is to exchange my 1BR Harbour Lake week, so the cost with maintenance fees and exchange fee and everything would be more like $900-$1000.

Take the AC. The differences are not enough to offset that cost differential.

The original section is all dedicated 2 BR's. The sequel are all lock off's and even if you get a 2 BR lock off, the configuration is a little weird and seems smaller. So all things being equal if you are getting a 2 BR and don't need the privacy of the lockoff most chose the original section. The lock offs aren't so weird or small that I wouldn't choose one if that was all that was available.

The lock offs are fine and have the same finish and furnishing. You get a building that is very different though. The original side has three floors with 15/20 units in each building. The Sequel would remind you of a hotel (Residence Inn) where the doors line a long corridor on each side. Lots more noise and foot traffic. Sequel in the summer is great because it is right by the outdoor pool. Nothing going on over there in winter. Take the AC

Thanks for the input. I booked the AC. Hopefully they don't add the original Manor Club now that I'm already comitted, but I guess I cant complain about a spring break week at a 2BR Marriott for ~$300!

A spring break seven (7) days vacations that price is excellent.

It's really not a big deal in terms of the villas. Make sure you request a third floor unit at the end of the hall (away from the elevators). That will eliminate hallway noise and noise from the unit(s) above.

If you want to be closer to the main clubhouse and activities center across the street, ask for Jamestown Commons. If you want to in a quiet, low traffic area, ask for Federal Commons.

Big Matt, you can hear the elevator on the original size @ the Manor Club from the guest bedroom especially if you are a light sleeper. IMHO.
