I traded into Manor Club for the end of March. Can anyone recommend a location/building? A view would be nice.

No views other than golf course.

Do you want to be near or away from the clubhouse?

Thanks for posting the map.
We are on the 2 bedroom side not the lock offs.
We will most likly use the indoor pool area. We like having coffee/cocktails outdoors on the patio/balcony if weather permits. So a view of something other than the parking lot would be lovely. Or the update villas.

They all were updated about a year ago, so pretty much any building will be the same.

If you have a large group, you might ask if there is any availability on the third floor of the Berkeley building.

We stayed in the original Berkeley Bldg with a golf view and it was very nice.

An above poster said there are no views other than the golf coures. Not true. You could get a view of a courtyard, a parking lot, and many first floor units that face the parking lots are right next to the sidewalk and people can look in.

Ask for a high floor golf view and you should be fine.

I suggest Berkeley, Chesapeake, and Governors Manor.

Matt is correct. I meant to say no good views other than golf course.

So which exchange between MSE and MMC would give one the best shot at not getting a parking lot or sidewalk view?

I am about to put in a request for next summer and would like to avoid that. A golf course view would be fabulous for DH.

Never been and he is really looking forward to it. Major history buff.

What are the big pros and cons for each one? I did read the reviews for they are somewhat dated.

The sequel units are off each side of buildings with long corridors perpendicular to the parking lots. So the views are of the partially wooded areas between the buildings and the other structures including the pool and sports facilities.

The preferred views of the original side are the golf course views - - at the back of each building.

Its worth it to view the resort on google maps satellite. There is "street view" for the Manor Club and Sequel side parking areas.

Most prefer the original side to the sequel. They are dedicated 2 BR with attractive architecture and layout, while the sequel side is 2BR LO that has much more of a hotel look and feel.

Thanks Matt. I am not the original poster, just a happy by-stander. Based upon your recommendation, I called and put in a request and I think we are going to be in the Chesapeake building on the third floor. :)

We stayed there a long time ago and I'm sure my pictures are totally outdated as they updated the units. Anyways, we were in the Jefferson building and I was really worried we get a really "bad" room as we arrived at midnight on check-in day. So, we figured all the good rooms were gone. We got a 1st floor room but it was over looking the golf course. It was kinda of on a hill so, it wasn't a walk out. I was glad we dodged the sidewalk view. The area is lovely so, I'm sure you'll have a great time. I pictures in the link in my signature but they are very dated from like 2004 or something like that.

So, my memory is fuzzy. There was no hill off the balcony but it is definitely enclosed. We had a nice view.

Make sure you ask for a golf view also. Chesapeake is a great building, but many of the higher floors overlook the parking lot too. Another thing is that not all top floors are on the third floor. Berkeley is like that, but the others have some buildings where there are some second floors (on the wings) and some third floors being the highest ones (think a tiered type of architecture).

Thanks Matt. I am not the original poster, just a happy by-stander. Based upon your recommendation, I called and put in a request and I think we are going to be in the Chesapeake building on the third floor. :)

You shouldn't have any problem with view at that time of year as March isn't prime season...but you do have to ask. My pref in the original section is Governor's Manor ... on the right side of the office, an easy walk to the outdoor pool (if open) indoor pool & hot tub, as well as the Marketplace and office. The meetings are all in the basement of that building too...and the kid's activity rooms. The building is a 'pass through' -- anyone with a room key in other buildings can walk through the building instead of around it.

Also like Chesapeake Manor on the other side of the offices, and it doesn't have basement meeting areas. The other buildings can be a bit of a hike in bad weather.

I was just there for two weeks in Berkeley and with every day over 100 degrees and humid I found the walk to the pools/marketplace too much. Berkeley is also the oldest building and the rooms are bigger...but we had a terrible time with the AC as inside temps were 80 degrees - better than outside but not very comfortable. Maintenance couldn't fix it and they had a lot of AC problems apparently with the high temps and storms.

At Sequel I feel the best location is Jamestown or Colonial facing the pool area. Federal doesn't have much of a view but is quite private and quiet.
