The catch is that you have to spend 14 days in one of a list of countries before going to Malta. (Not likely) The list of countries is ....

Austria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Italy, France, Slovakia, Switzerland, Greece, Croatia, Spain, Poland, United Kingdom, Belgium, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, China, Vatican City, Rwanda, Uruguay, Slovenia, Japan, Morocco, Thailand, Tunisia, Portugal, Romania, Lebanon, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Jordan, and Liechtenstein.

Too bad. My wife and I would like to go to Malta.

I hope this changes as I have a trip to Malta tentatively planned for May '21. And spending 14 days in one of these countries in advance is not going to happen. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, unless you are planning to spend several weeks away, it does not make a lot of sense.

You can also take Canada off that list as one of the options for Americans to quarantine for the 14 days, since the Canada/US border is still closed for non-essential travel (e.g. tourism)!!

Are U.S. citizens even allowed into any of those countries? I thought we were pretty much banned from most places.
