Points-wise, 1YX is 12% more expensive than 1XX, but both units have the same description in the HGVC booking portal. So what's the catch? How are they different?

Not how those codes apply, but there are two slightly different one bedroom units there. The one bedroom deluxe units will have an electric fireplace in the corner of the living room and a hot tub outside on the patio. These are the old "Sedona" units. The other 1 bedroom units were previously called "Jerome". In my mind, the deluxe is not worth anything extra. The hot tub is VERY old and the fireplace takes up room in the living room. YMMV

These are called 1 Bedroom Deluxe (1ZX) on HGVC side, and unit descriptions indeed include fireplace and hot tub. Even though this doesn't address my question, it's a good thing to know about 1ZX. It had some availability too, so I'm glad I didn't pick it. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. So the question about the difference between 1 Bedroom (1YX) and 1 Bedroom (1XX) remains open - if anybody knows, please share. If nobody knows, well, I'll be the one sharing it in March, as I booked one 1YX and one 1XX. ;)

XX and XY are chromosomes that determine an individual's biological sex, reproductive organs, and sexual characteristics. Individuals with two X chromosomes are female. Individuals with one X chromosome and one Y chromosome are male.

What? Oh, that's very different. Nevermind.

Well, maybe you just guessed the unit layout, like Elara's 2BD unit extending deep into 1BD space... ;)
