Hi, We both have ff flyer tickets to use up, and I've always wanted to check out Ashville, trying for June 17 for 5 days or so. Any recommendations for bed and breakfast places, cabins, etc. My idea of reasonable is $100 or less per day.
Thanks,
Liz

Good website

I've always wanted to go there too, but I am always out-voted 3-1. :bawl:

A good website to do some research on your own is www.exploreasheville.com
I have looked at it too many times! I'll just have to live vicariously through you!!

Our friend booked our motel through the Biltmore site. I have no idea if it was any kind of deal or not. I think we were at a Courtyard but I'm not certain. I'll ask DH. We got Biltmore passes that allowed return visits and winery tour. www.biltmore.com

We really enjoyed Asheville very much and wished we'd stayed longer. Did you search TUG for Ashville? We got some good suggestions here.

Be sure to visit the Grove Park Inn. There are other restaurants in it besides the super expensive one. I think there is a car museum there, too.

Hotel rentals in Asheville can be unbelievably expensive on certain dates. Certain special events seem to book up the entire town. I've seen the worst dumps going for $75 a night at busy times.

We stayed at the Country Inns and Suites on Tunnel Rd and found it nice enough.

We stayed at the Sourwood Inn. It is outside of town on a hillside in beautiful surroundings. Each room is a little different and the common areas are beautiful, large firepace with comfy furniture and a huge porch with lots of rocking chairs. The breakfast comes with the cost of the room and it is wonderful-all made in the kitchen that morning. I can highly recommend this inn. The inn keepers were friendly and quite helpful. We loved staying there!

Read the reviews on Trip Advisor all wonderful but no ac said one reviewer.

We went the week for a few days right after Christmas. There is a Marriott right across from the Asheville airport. Biltmore is wonderful. I wanted to go there for 5 years or more. It's 99.00 a night and 20-25 minutes from Biltmore and downtown Asheville.

There is a Mellow Mushroom downtown Asheville and some nice bistros.

There is a mini mall down the road with several restaurants that are decent. Do not go to the one that shares the Marriott lot which is jammed day and night. Food is fair.

A must do is the famous Grove Park Inn for breakfast buffet,16.99, great views and top shelf spa and massive stone fireplace. $$$ to stay there though.

My inlaws would go to Black Mountain, just outside Asheville and spend a month at a time at a place called the Monte Vista. It is a small B&B type hotel. No frills but very pleasant place to be and the price is low. Check out their website at www.montevistahotel.com.
