Booking a Cat 8 VP hotel certification. Only two in London hotels available for the dates I need are Marriott Regent's Park and Marriott's Hotel Kensington.

Anyone been to either? Pros/cons based on the hotel or location?

We'll be there primarily for sightseeing and tourist activities, with 2 kids. I acknowledge neither is in the heart of the city, but hopefully close enough?

I've been to the Marriott Kensington 7 or 8 times in the last 3 years for work. Rooms are small, typical for London and the exec lounge is average. The breakfast is fairly good if you are gold or above but expensive if not. The tube is very close and directly across the street is a Sainsburys for groceries. I think the location is good the area is safe and well kept and as I said the tube is very convenient (2 locations). I have not been to regents park other than to walk by.

I echo the previous poster. I like Kensington for its proximity to The Natural History Museum, Science Museum and V&A museum.

I too like the location in Kensington, both for what is in the immediate area and for easy tube access or even walking to other areas (if you enjoy a fair bit of walking)
I have also had very good suite upgrades there.
The Executive lounge offered a reasonable choice.
Unless they have moved it now though, as it is some while since my last stay, it is in the basement with no views which is a shame but perhaps that is just being picky?

Thanks all!

While I have not stayed at either, I personally liked the location of the Kensington better than Regent's Park. Your comments solidify my thoughts.

As a result, I grabbed 5 nights at the Marriott Kensington Hotel in a Junior Suite (MR Pts + Cash).
