Hi there everyone
I am really glad to have found this bb - seems there is a lot of knowledge and experience out there.

My wife and I just bought into RCI, and are wondering if there are a) specific lesbian-marketted resorts and b) if other gay/lesbian couples have had particularly good experiences at any resort. Since reading this bb today, I have learned the Harbor Hill in Provincetown does market to us, but any place else??

I guess the flip side of this is if anyone has had a bad experience, and could let us of know of where to avoid, also. Nothing kills holiday fun like homophobia, that's for sure.

Thanks everyone!

Villa Mykonos in Palm Springs advertises as a gay/lesbian TS. Also there is a new one in Orlando, I can't remember the name.

thanks!

Hey thanks for the quick replies!
I checked out both suggestions. It would appear that the Gardens is.... well... more of a boy-focussed "adult" sort of place. I noted the "his and his" items advertised. No...don't think women are particularly welcomed.

But certainly the Villa Mykonos looks welcoming. Cool! I believe the Dinah Shore weekend might need to be considered for our next holiday.

anyone else have any other to add?

thanks! This is a great resource!

I would hope that you would feel welcome anywhere. Please don't limit your choices to a narrow range.

We hope so too

Hi Susan

thanks for your warm wishes. We hope that we indeed will be welcomed everywhere we wish to travel, but experience shows that this simply isn't the case. :( We won't be limiting our choices to the info we discover on this thread, but if given a choice of comparable resorts in a particular location, I think we'd "stay gay". It isn't that we often have blatant discrimination directed at us; it is simply the difference between being tolerated, and being truly welcomed and accepted. These are two very different things.

I think folks in other minority groups would KWIM.

thanks

Don't remember the name of the resort, but there is at least one resort in Provincetown on Cape Cod that has mostly lesbian owners.

I'm pretty sure you mean Harbor Hill, which the OP mentioned. It looks like the nicest timeshare in Provincetown, from pictures I've seen.

My wife & I travel early December & Late March to out winter destinations (off the beaten path). Snowmobiling is our thing. Most of the times there are just a hand full of people at the resorts so we’re always happy to see other guest. We've been to places like Whitefish, Montana; Barrie, Ontario; Killington, Vermont and we've always met nice folks.

We're black, and for some reason Black folks don't do much snowmobiling :) (In five years I think we've run into 1 or 2). We’ve gotten the little delayed look/stare but I don’t think it's any kind of judgment or negative vibes - it's just unfamiliarity.

Of course there’s homophobia out there but they’re the minority. For most of us it’s just unfamiliarity. So, please forgive us but please don’t stay away.

I would hope you have found a place of knowlege.

We are all husbands and wifes and sons and daughters. The bond we share is the timesharing one.

Truely, reception would make you as welcome as the next group checking in. It is a five minute process.

If you want special welcomes then that is another thing.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I had no idea of the community that seems to spring from timesharing! I am reassured very much by your input.

I hope our experiences are as delightful and fun-filled as all of yours. That's all we hope for! Thanks again.

That said, it'd be great to hear the travel experiences of other lesbian and gay timeshare owners so we can get more direct info and feedback. Thanks to those who have PMed me already; more feedback is welcome!

thanks everyone!

Any timeshare in San Francisco

Probably no explanation required for this one.

The HGVC Valdoro Mountain Lodge in Breckenridge, Colorado seems to be a good spot as well. It's not specifically lesbian or gay but the guests come from all backgrounds and I've never seen anyone feel unwelcomed there.

Key West, I think, is very gay friendly. Everybody is pretty much there to have a good time, so whatever.

I'll second Key West .This town welcomes everyone and is one of my favorate destinations.

I have deleted several posts which strayed from the topic of this thread to a socially controversial discussion, which is not permitted here.

Since the OP's question appears to have been answered, I am closing this thread.
