Legacy vacation resorts points

Hi, really hoping this is the right place to post and hoping someone can someone point me in the right direction.

We purchased points back in Jan 2020 whilst staying at Legacy Orlando Kissamee. We were a little naive going into it and one of the main draws was around being able to sell our points back (as well as buying more if wanted to).
We paid off our finance plan for the points a year ago and now being in the UK, we are travelling less and even tho we can transfer to RCI we no longer need to continue.
The response from Legacy was basically we don't do that so tough you need to find someone to buy them.
I saw a post about deedback, is this something I need to go through?
If I just stopped paying my yearly dues would they just foreclose and move on to someone else selling my points on? Would this have any repruccsions for a non US citizen?

Any help appreciated.
