I have LCUP points that expire 9/18/2021. Does that mean that travel needs to be completed by that date or that the date is the last day I can use the points (example book 9/18/21 for travel within 60 days)?

Thank you!

Book by. Travel can be later.

My home week is week 45. Does my CUP period end at week 45? How far out I can book somewhere before my CUP points expires? I am still confused after 3-year of ownership. Thank you.

Yes, any remaining points with a week 45 ownership will stay CUP until week 45 and can book anything you see (up to a year) in Hyatt or book anything you see in Interval.

You can move those points into EE for Interval up to 4 months before your home week (approx week 28 which is July). EE points stay active 2 years from your home week (a long time). This is an effective strategy for extending the life of points but they can only be used for Interval once this is done.

Once you hit week 45 and remaining points go into LCUP and are valid for 6 more months. They can be spent on a reservation in Hyatt up to 2 months into the future from the booking date. LCUP points cannot be spent in Interval. Once 6 more months pass the points will expire.

Your online account will list points status and dates.

To be very specific, CUP points become LCUP on the first day of your home week. For example, I have week 13, with a Friday check in. So this year that was March 26. If I had points, I could make a CUP reservation 12? months in advance or an II exchange on March 25. On March 26, would only be able to reserve within HRC 60 days in advance... wouldn't be able to make an II exchange with those points.

GTLINZ:

Thank you for the detailed explanation. Have s wonderful summer. We are at Jekyll Island, GA right now.

DSMRP:

Your example is very helpful, I do not know that even a check-in date in the same week makes a difference. We need more experts as you and GTLINZ. Thank you.

Thanks Pinetree1, but I'm no expert. I just had to learn from the CS reps last year, when I had to cancel within 30 days due to Covid , and didn't want to lose any points!
And I usually ask a lot of questions :D

Hey @ScoopLV, Long time no see. Where've ya been?

Busy. We bought a farm in Hawaii and are in the process of moving. I thought about Tug the other day when we were in Carmel. You can see the post I just wrote about being a long-term Hyatt owner. Might be useful for the n00bs.
