:hi: So desperate for my Hawaii "fix" I recorded a Lawrence Welk show done on the Islands circa 1960.

If you want a good laugh, listen to him try to pronounce Hawaii, Waikiki , and Honolulu. Got to be the worst I've ever heard. (Although I did hear some Hollywood type pronounce Kauai "COW EYE."

Compared to him, I could pass for a native Hawaiian.

We were missing Kauai so much we went to see "The Perfect Getaway," a thriller about a couple hiking the Na Pali Coast. We don't normally like thrillers, but were needed a Kauai fix. There were some scenes from Kauai but many factual errors (like the side trip up one of the valleys to Secret Falls and it appeared that most of the scenes were filmed elsewhere. But the helicopter shots were accurate. We got a little fix, but a fix just the same.
