Thinking about a week in Lake Ozark, Mo., in August. We've never been there. Anyone know if that's a good time to go? Weeks are available at Four Seasons Racuet & Country Club, Treetop Condos at Four Seasons and Treetops Village at Four Seasons. Any recommendations (we have three kids - 12 and under). Thanks to all.:D

When I was a kid, Lake of the Ozarks was our yearly family vacation destination. I have many fond memories of the Lake. Of course, I'm sure things have changed drastically since we would vacation there back in the '70's.

August was always when we went. It will be hot an humid. Most of our days were spent swimming in the lake. Lake of the Ozarks was a very clear lake at that time. Boating has increased considerably on the Lake over the years so I'm not certain what the conditions would be now.

I haven't actually be down to the Lake since 1998 and that was only for a brief day trip when I was taking care of my mothers estate. It still seemed like a reasonably nice place to go and get away for a week.

I agree with Doug... it will be hot. The area is beautiful, and we had a good time over the Christmas break at the Four Seasons Racquet Club. The tennis courts are great (there is a fee for indoor use, outdoor courts are free), and the fitness center/indoor pool were very nice also. There are also several outdoor pools. Not much for resort activities...

The Four Seasons' units are huge - especially the 3BR size, which is perfect for a family get-together. We gave our youngest daughter the master bedroom and she really liked that! I highly recommend that resort.

There's not as much to do as Branson has to offer, but still plenty. It has it's own style and scenery, which we've always enjoyed.
