Lcup-I can only book 60 days out? ANd once booked, those cannot be changed? Does the reservation have to START within my 60 day window? I have a few points getting ready to expire and I guess I need to book something.

Thank you
Barbara Taylor

Check in has to be 60 days from your reservation date. I believe you can change/cancel an LCUP reservation, but you will incur a cancellation fee.

Cancellations do incur a fee. But you also have to consider the life of your points.

Lets say your home week the points came from was Oct 1st of last year year. So your points are LCUP until somewhere around Apr 1st of this year. They would still be alive now and could be used for booking in mid May right now (or as late as the end of May). If you cancelled the reservation in Mid April, the points will have expired and you will would NOT get them back.

The Hyatt rules are pretty straightforward but the implications can hurt your head when not using your home week. You always have to track the life of the points and take that into consideration. The online system does help you track all points by deeded unit and designation (CUP, LCUP, RCUP, EE).

To add more acronyms and headaches, for left HRPP out of the CUP, LCUP, RCUP, EE equation. :)
