Hi,
We were offered an exchange for either a 2 bedroom at the Holua Resorts at Mauna Loa Village for one week or a 1 bedroom at the Kauai Coast Resort, for one or two weeks.
Travelling are with me are my spouse and two small children, ages 2 & 4.
Same week(first couple of weeks of October 2008).
We just returned from Waikoloa, 2bd/2bth in early December. Enjoyed Kona but were thinking we would try another island next year.

My concern is that there are many availability at Kauai for a 1 bedroom. Any reasons why? The reviews on TUG look great and the photos on the internet look good. Is the 1 bedroom really small?

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

we were just at the Mauna Loa Village this month and the 2 BD are larger, but know that there is NO BEACH there - you would need to drive to one.

There are pools there

I don't know about RCI but for II there are a lot more timeshares on Kauai than on the Big Island. Also some people become concerned about the surf in Kauai in the later months of the year. In October you may, or may not, be able to go in the water on the North side of the island depending on waves.

I personally love Kauai in October as there are less people than in the summer. But I would take a trade into Kauai on any day of the year, so I am a little partial.:D

The Kauai Coast Resort is a gorgeous little resort - and the units are very close to the water.
