Ko Olina Dining Suggestions?

We just checked into Marriott's Ko Olina yesterday. We've been using the villa's kitchen, but would like some suggestions on dining out, as well. We got some fussy eaters in the family, so we're mostly American/Seafood/Steaks/Italian food eaters. Any suggestions on where to eat? It looks like mostly fast food around here.

Any reviews on Chuck's Steak & Seafood? It looks a little pricey, it might be worth it for the ambiance/outdoor dining.

Azul, at the Ihilani, check the prices first.
Assaggio's in Kapolei, good Italian.
Hapa Grill also in Kapolei, if you can take some local flavor.

we did Chuck's the night we arrived. We were tired and hungry. Only did the salad bar with soup. It was very good. Kids had the kids meals. One loved the chicken, one hated the mac & cheese (but she is very picky anyway).

Can't comment on the regular menu. We did do the Japense place at JWMarriott. Had lobster which was very good. Pricey, but we used the marriott dining for 2 cert - so it was reasonable.

To us Haleiwa Joes on the North Shore was very good.

I know there is a yellow pages in the room - they have a menu section that may help.

There are lots of places in Waikiki, but that is a drive. We had a great meal at Chai's Island Bistro at Aloha Tower, plus got to see Nathan (from Hapa) perform.

Also a good idea, is to shop at the Costco there in Kapolei. You can get some nice steak, salad fixings, and side dishes for the picky eaters.

We ate at Kolohe's one night, but other than the view and we were tired, we didn't like the food too much. It's not great and overpriced IMHO.

Roy's on the golf course is a must restaurant on Ko Olina. You can walk to it and the food is great.

Chuck's was OK and we also enjoyed the restaurant at the swimming pool.

We drove to the shopping center at the town before Ko Olina and picked up a bunch of carry-out menus. That gave us several choices and the time from ordering to pickup worked well.

Roy's is my favorite restaurant but it might be a bit to fancy for fussy eaters. You can check out their menu here: http://www.roysrestaurant.com/pdf/pdmenus/NewportBeach.pdf They don't have the menus online for Hawaii but the food is similar in style if not exactly the same. They do have what I consider the best children's menu around. They serve a wide variety of stuff on the menu like baked chicken, mashed potatoes and veggie, etc... baked fish, grilled steak, etc... So, the children's menu has adult type food but a little more kid friendly.

Our kids are 18 and 21 The fussy eaters are husband and the 21 year old. Sort of meat-and-potatoes men. Thanks for the suggestion, tho. I'll show them the menu and see what they think.

Duke's in Waikki is good if you plan an evening there.
And one of my favorite meals was at the pool bar at Ko Olina!

We loved eating at that pool bar! It is especially nice at sunset.

if you're out driving around, try one of the shrimp shacks on the Kam highway. We ate at one called "Fumi's" in NE section of Oahu. Not real cheap for what is basically a super lunch truck, but if you like shrimp, this is good. You can order it a lot of different ways. Paper plates, picnic tables, canned soda and a big sink to wash yourself off afterward. It is pretty informal

I also vote for Roy's; they normally have a special if you dine before 6:00PM. I'd call to verify the time and the special.
