Does anyone know exactly what mattress/toppers are in these rooms? We noticed we did not feel movement when the other person shifts around in the bed and this led to better nights sleep. I would love to know the exact mattress and or how to accomplish this. I don’t know if it is the mattress, topper, bed frame, or the combination of everthing.

Split king beds are great for this very thing. I don't feel as much movement with our bed.

I believe Marriott has advertisements for their beds and bedding in some units. I have seen it at MMO.

We were just there last week and we had a brand new mattress - on day 3 - after I complained about the dips in the original mattress. The new mattress had a thicker top mattress than the one it replaced, and a lower profile box spring than the old one. It also said "Marriott" on the mattress, no other brand noted. Ours did not have a separate topper. They did not replace the bed frame. We have a memory foam bed at home and the new Marriott mattress did not feel like our memory foam mattress to me - I did notice some movement across the bed on the Marriott mattress. Our memory foam mattress at home eliminates that problem completely which is why we have one.

I was shocked at the condition of the old mattress when it was removed, and shocked that it was still in use. It looked old. When I complained, we had a new mattress within an hour which was great, but it appeared to me that they weren't replacing the mattress on a schedule, just waiting for a guest to complain. (And I am your girl when it comes to noticing a bad mattress!)

You are so smart…I should have complained and gotten a different mattress when we were there two weeks ago…my back is still hurting.

I just spent nearly 8 weeks recovering from a back issue. I had no intention of triggering it again. I am sorry that you had one of those old mattresses. I hope that you gave them feedback, because the old mattresses should have been retired a while ago.

I’m sorry about your back….once again, you were smart. I hope you come to full healing.
I didn’t think it would bother me so much, as I haven’t had back issues. But my back has been aching sInce our first night there. Lesson learned.

We've bought both Marriott and Westin bedding, though not a mattress. We've found that it is not all that consistent with what you find in the hotels. Our Westin duvet wasn't as full or heavy as the one on the Heavenly Bed. The sizes of the king are also different as hotels tend to use a hotel or resort king matress vs a true king. The hotel king is slightly smaller to help make the room look larger.

When you order a mattress, I believe they ask you which hotel you stayed in when you liked the mattress and they contact that property to confirm the specifics of the mattress before shipping you something.

Looks like they sell two different mattresses on that site - foam and coil. If they will be able to tell me exactly what I slept on that would certainly be helpful. Thanks

Based upon the photos on the website, the mattress looks exactly like the innerspring mattress. The Marriott mattress at Ko Olina didn't feel like my memory foam mattress either, so I'm pretty sure that it's the innerspring model.

Mattresses are definitely an individual thing. The mattresses at Westin are the best for a good night of sleep. I have always slept well at Westins on Maui and Kauai, also at Mission Hills in Palm Desert.

Marriott mattresses are not consistent. I have had good and bad ones. The one at Royal Palms in December was great.

Hono Koa put new mattresses in the bedrooms, and they were hard last year. I am not looking forward to a hard bed at Hono Koa for 3 straight weeks. I hope they are broken in a bit.

I have always suspected that. They always feel like queens. Not sure why they can advertise that they are king beds. Happens in most resorts.

Wow, the pre-arrival team at Ko’olina is so nice! I emailed and got a response same day. I am not ready to buy a mattress so I probably won’t pursue this right now but in case anyone is interested, here is what they said: “It is a king memory foam. The brand is Solstice. To our knowledge, it is a 9’ Supreme Plush. If that doesn't work, we can reach out to the mattress company and that may take some time to get a response but would be happy to inquire for you.” I couldn’t find much on the internet about that brand.

Thay is so weird because the mattress that they put into our room definitely matched the innerspring photo, and definitely not the memory foam one on the website.

That said their prices seemed crazy. Our mattress at home which I like much better than the Marriott one came from Costco and was less than $1000. And if you don't like it, Costco will take it back.

One would think that for the amount of yearly maintenance that Marriott charges everything should be perfect when you arrive and whining should not be needed.

My thoughts exactly. We were here on an exchange but that doesn't change anything for me. I know how much the maintenance fees are here. The bed should not be old. And don't get me started on the wifi. I had to use my hotspot almost 100% of the time to check email, and definitely to stream anything in the evening. It was the worst that I have ever encountered, Marriott or not.
