Hello,

First post so if this breaks any rules, my apologies. I am traveling to the Big Island in July and was looking at booking the 1DP room in the open season. I noticed none of the guides here mention that room code for Kings' Land. Is that because the room is effectively the same as 1BP but with double beds instead of a king bed?

Detailed post on Kings' Land

Welcome to TUG. A question certainly won't break the rules. Actually, you asked a good question too that I am not sure that I know the answer. The only difference between the two descriptions on the HGVC website that I see is that the 1DP has two double beds in BR and 1BP has a king-size bed in BR. Hopefully someone else will be able to share some insight.

1 Bedroom Plus (1DP)

Size 924 sqft
Accommodates: 4

This spacious one-bedroom, one-bathroom golf course view suite with lanai, located on the first or second floor, features a primary bedroom with two double beds and bathroom with a free-standing shower and separate soaking tub. The suite includes a generous living room with HD cable TV and HGV's In-Room TV Experience that allows content streaming from your mobile devices, and queen-size sleeper sofa, as well as a full kitchen with rice steamer and washer/dryer.

Some of the room codes only exist in some of the buildings. Even in Phase 1, i discovered there are some room codes in certain buildings. I had booked two different codes when some friends decided to join us. I tried to get the units closed to each other, but discovered that would not work.

In this case my guess its just the bed configuration that makes these different. Sometimes you prefer not to share a bed with your traveling companion..

Thank you both. I figured as such but wanted to clarify.

Just to make the thread complete: We stayed in this room for 2 nights. Was a great room and in fact did have 2 double beds inside the bedroom plus the pullout sofa bed in the living room.
