Here now for a week after our 11 days at PBC. Definitely returning! Pool and beach are awesome! Not a steep beach drop off like at PBC. Lots of lounges and umbrellas right on the beach. Great dining venues all fairly priced (less than PBC). Currently only large hotel room suites with a small refrigerator. They will start upgrading these beginning this summer. Current completion schedule for the 4 new buildings is late 2026-early 2027. That complex will have another pool as well as restaurants. Full kitchen + washer-dryer. Full access to all JW facilities. Ownership will be new Khao Lak points different than AP points and Abound points. Sounds like a different trust but with the same value as AP and Abound points and can be used like those. No sales center here yet.

I wonder if this is one of the AP properties that they indicated during the earnings call they are holding off on adding additional inventory? Perhaps those 4 new buildings won't be completed or if they are they will just be rented for cash?

It was a Sofitel that was destroyed by the tsunami in 2004. Rebuilt as a JW Marriott in 2009.

Definitely not holding back. Working very actively on the new buildings. Sr management says everything is on track for completion of the new buildings.

Khao Lak sounds familiar. Was that damaged during the tsunami?

Yes Khao Lak was quite severely damaged during the 2004 Tsunami.
It is well worth the educational experience of visiting the memorial sites, especially one of the most iconic memorials with the Thai Navy patrol boat 813, which was carried 2 kilometres inland by the tsunami

The progress on the new buildings on the inland side of the JW (but fully integrated with the resort) is very visible, even at this early stage.
