First, I want to thank the many Tuggers who posted on past threads about the Keurig Coffee makers & how much they enjoyed the quality of the coffee. I finally convinced my better half we REALLY needed one, when we had 26 people over for Thanksgiving & some only drink decaf, and others want strong, and others only want it if it's freshly made. They wear me out. So, this year we took the plunge & bought a Keurig machine for $139 at Costco & it came with 60 k-cups of assorted varieties. Everyone had fresh, hot piping coffee just the way they liked it, and it was the big hit of Thanksgiving. I think they drank almost the entire 60 cups (we had several family members from out of town who stayed over for the weekend). So, thank you Tuggers for all the prior info and posts on Keurig & K-cups.

Did you know that Target sells just about the cheapest K-cups I have found anywhere? My local Target store sells the 18-pack of "The Original Donut Shop Coffee" (Extra Bold, Medium Roast) from the Coffee people for only $4.97 for a box of 18 k-cups. That's less than 28 cents per K-cup. Since I had already tried it and liked it, I bought 4 boxes today (72 k-cups) and it totaled $19.88 (no tax on coffee in CA, yet).

Since I also happened to be at Costco today, I sampled the Paul Neuman's K-cups, and noticed that they were quoted at 41 cents per K-cup unit price ($31 for 80 cups). So, definitely a higher cost per cup -- although not the same coffee.

Wow, that's a great deal on k-cups. Do they have a huge variety of flavors for that price?

My Keurig is not working as it should, because the hard plastic ring/ gasket that fits over the k-cups (in the handle that clamps down) broke off into many little pieces, which landed in my coffee cup, and Keurig told me weeks and weeks ago they would ship me that part. Hasn't come yet.

I still use the thing, but I cannot brew any Timothy's coffees with that broken piece, because I get gobs and gobs of coffee grounds in the coffee. The other brands work just fine and have just a few grounds with that part broken. I don't know what it is with Timothy's, but they lost all of my business now. The other brands don't need that gasket to make a great cup of coffee.

No. My Target was selling only 1 brand that is at that price. The 18-pack of "The Original Donut Shop Coffee" Extra Bold, Medium Roast from the Coffee people ($4.97 for a box of 18 k-cups). All the other varieties (Green Mountain, Van Houtte, Tully's, etc.) all sell for $9.97 or $10.97 per box of 18 K-cups. So, this particular brand is selling at half the price of the others.

I asked at the cashiers if it was a sale, but they all seemed pretty clueless. It didn't have any sales tags on the shelf, and I didn't see anything about it being on sale in this week's ad -- but I bought 4 boxes just in case.

I'm enjoying it, and I brew it on the largest setting (travel mug) and it works out just fine. At the 28 cent per cup price it will be a lot less expensive for us when our family & extended family start flocking in on Christmas eve & Christmas day wanting a hot cuppa Joe.

Hmmm. Maybe I should purchase a few more boxes. We are anticipating a lot of house guests during the holidays.

We are leaving for Orlando today, and I wish my Keurig was portable and could travel with us. :)

Thanks for the tip, Rene. I really like the The Original Donut Shop Coffee. We got some really good prices at Macy's, of all places, when they had one of their two days sales a couple weeks ago.

We have a new Bed Bath & Beyond store that recently opened in my town, and they had an entire WALL devoted to K-cup type coffeemakers and brews. I've never seen so many varieties of coffee, tea, cocoa, and whatever in one place. I didn't price-shop them, but if you want to check out what sort of options exist, that may be a place to visit. I was pretty impressed by the selection. I'd expect most BB&B stores would have similar inventory.

My dh usually just order the Kcups online from Amazon at about 42 cents per Kcup. He likes to get the "frustration free" packaging with 50 Kcups for $21. They also frequently have sales where you get 2 24 count boxes (48 Kcups) for $20. I don't really like that Donut Shop coffee. But Wolfgang Puck's Jamaica Me Crazy is great (coconut aroma), Gloria Jean's has some great flavors, Coffee People's Kona is a nice rich strong plain coffee.

A relative had an extended family brunch on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend and had a nice assortment of K cups displayed. Everyone enjoyed making their own and trying some different flavors.

Another suggestion... Amazon has this subscription service for the K cups. You get an additional discount to order via subscription. And, you can have 1 box delivered as rarely as every 6 months. So, if a coffee is available via subscription order it that way regardless if you've tried it or not. If you love it, you can increase your delivery frequency, if you don't like it, you can remove it from your subscriptions without penalty at any time.

Hint: You can order something once, and remove it... giving you that extra discount even if it's really just a one off order.

I seemed to have missed this item before, but after reading the post got curious and googled Keurig coffee. The BB&B site does have many flavors, as well as apple cider, etc. Pretty impressive.
