Have any of you downloaded the iPhone app version of the "Revealed" books? I see a link from the Wizard Publishing website (www.wizardpub.com) offering a version for Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island. Oahu is not yet available, I guess. I'm checking out the Kauai version on a friend's phone, and it looks pretty cool. I'd like to know if anyone has used the app in Hawaii, and whether it was worth the $6 to get it.

If you liked the books, you'll like the app. If you don't like the books, you'll probably not like the app.

It's pretty much a point at a spot on the map and it'll list off things nearby.

I agree that it appears to work pretty intuitively. And I do like the books. ;) The larger question is whether it was useful in Hawaii. Does it provide enough convenience to justify the price?

You drive a BMW and you're worried about $6.00? It's pretty much for the restaurants first and then any activities/beaches second.

LOL! Fair enough. It's not so much the six bucks, it's whether it is fully-featured enough to bother downloading it. I'm not one to download any app (even free ones) just to have it, and some apps are pared-down, limited versions of something else. It's one thing to play around with it while I'm sitting at home, but if it doesn't work well on location, I don't want to hassle with it. The intention of my original question was whether anyone had found it useful, especially since it's not free.

We used the it when we were there in January/early February. It worked great, helped us pinpoint exactly where we were on our hikes etc..

Well worth the extra:)

Thanks, Nancy. That feature would be handy, for sure.

It's worth the $6.00 Best thing is that you don't need an internet connection to fully use the app, unlike other apps that need a connection of some type to "fully perform".

Good point! Now that I know you folks found it worthwhile, I'll probably download it. I'll be on Kauai next month, so stay tuned... :)

One more vote for the app! I bought the Maui one and it was fantastic. Very smart for not requiring an internet connection. I used it like a map for everywhere I went. The point and list everything around it was fantastic as well.

I had used the Kauai book a few years ago and much preferred using the Maui app vs. the Kauai book. A lot easier to find everything with one click.

The other plus is that the app is WAY cheaper than the book. I think the book is like $19 vs $6 for the app.
