I wasn't sure where to post this question. We will be heading to the Marriott Desert Ridge in a few weeks and plan to use the lazy river across the street. Is there a fee to use the inner tubes? Are we allowed to bring our own tubes in the lazy river? I remember that at the Marriott Aruba Surf Club, guests can use their own tubes. I could not find this information listed anywhere.

I've been there 3 times. When I check in, I tell them that I want to use the JW pool. They gave me a special key card that opens the locked gate over there. There isn't a charge for the tubes. Since there is no charge, I don't know if they will allow you to bring your own. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes.

When you're at the Canyon Villas, check out the cowboy single, Marshall Pepper on Monday nights (? or is it Tuesday) - - entertaining and good fun for all ages. The beer tasting was also fun and free too.

The last time we were there, we went to the activities meeting (Monday am) and signed up for the 1-1/2 hour Segway rental. One of the things on my bucket list and well worth the discounted cost (around 50 bucks).

BTW, I'm told that the may restrict access on holidays to only JW guests (but if you can get through the gate, I don't know how they would know....)

I will call the concierge to double check on using the lazy river. There was a posting a few months ago as to when the lazy river and pools would not be available. Our week was not included, but it's better to be sure. Thanks for the update. We can leave the inner tubes home.

Our son is there starting today. Since it is Memorial Day Weekend, I called and they said the JW pools would be available Tuesday, but not Sat, Sun, Monday. Was happy they were not off limits for the whole week. His first time there, so he'll love it anyway! He just finished the Air Force survival school, and will be at nearby Luke AFB for a month long class before he heads off for his first assignment (in Germany) so this was a little "R & R" surprise!

Sometimes Marriott makes really great surprises possible! Can't wait to try to come up with a Costa del Sol, or Mallorca surprise next year.

We just stayed at Canyon Villas in April, had no problem using the facilities at the JW. No fee for tubes, plus they provided us with a shuttle to and from the resort.

We just returned on Sunday from the Canyon Villas. You were correct. There was no fee to use the tubes. Our stay was in the 2600 building. The weather was hot, but it is a dry heat. We have no regrets about traveling to Phoenix in June.
