Just wondering if there are any owners or visitors of the gardens at west Maui? We are looking at getting an eow ownership.

The gardens at west Maui
Just wondering if there are any owners or visitors of the gardens at west Maui? We are looking at getting an eow ownership. Is there anything you wish you'd known? What made you choose the gardens at west Maui?

Gardens at West Maui is a quaint little resort in the Napili area, across the road from the beach. It backs to the Kapalua golf course with a giant fence to keep stray balls from hitting the buildings (windows and such).

The units are nice, especially the 1 bed, 2 bath, recently updated, and it's managed by Soleil, which also manages Sands of Kahana, Hono Koa, Kahana Villas, Maui Beach, etc.

I think if you are going to get something resale, it should be something better, nicer . An island view Westin RESALE is a pretty great deal and worthy of the resale cost. I wouldn't take a Gardens at West Maui free right now, but that's me. We used to own there and didn't think it was half bad, but back then the maintenance fees were about $750. I could rent it for $1,000. I am sure the fees are substantially higher.

Where are you buying this and how much, and is it a studio or a full 1 bedroom?

I love the area of the Gardens of West Maui. The mf at $1,075 isn't too bad at all for a one bed unit, imo. I think because it's managed by Solei Management reservations could be made at other Solei managed properties if what you want is available. Maybe someone that knows for sure will weigh in @rickandcindy23 .

I see these at Timeshare Nation and have been tempted but I'm not wanting a deeded type timeshare with no exit plan.

Having stayed there recently I would agree with all of Cindy’s comments. I would add that there is an “urban farm” next door and so noisy roosters can be a problem, although for some reason we didn’t notice it this year. The kitchen is very tight for more than one person at a time. The location near to Kapalua and Napili beaches is certainly its draw.

Just curious of everyone’s take on Maui Banyan in comparison.
I’m intrigued by the potential value of locking off and getting 2 weeks there in Maui. I know Kihei is in a different location, but I wonder what was thought of the value in terms of dollars, quality, location and the ease of exit in the future.
