I seem to remember reading that most people recommend paying the closing company with PayPal rather than a credit card.

Could someone either send the link or answer why this is/is not a good idea?
Closing company is timeshareclosingservices.com which seems to have a pretty good reputation on TUG.

Thanks!

You can use a credit card to pay through Pay Pal- probably the best to safeguard your money. Both your credit card and Pay Pal help to protect against any loss by fraud

I don't know of any reason to use both Paypal and your credit card. Your credit card should offer fraud protection for 60 days after the charge hits your Acct.

Could you by any chance be thinking about using Paypal for rentals? It's often discussed in that context.

More importantly - I'd ask to see the estoppel letter before I paid in full to make sure you are actually getting what was advertised.

I like to make a small "good faith" down payment, and then pay the balance in full after it checks out.

Thanks for all your help, everyone. Sometimes I've read so much out of curiosity and then no longer remember what applies to a specific situation...

I totally agree about using PayPal, funding the transaction with a credit card (preferably American Express). I've had many times when PayPal wouldn't make things right with a bad transaction, but American Express did. If you fund the PayPal payment with your credit card, you have two different ways to dispute the charge if things go south.
