Just won an Ebay auction for Ocean Pointe! Help!

Actually, the complaints should be filed with the Tennessee Attorney General's Office in the Consumer Protection Division (State crime).

The Federal Government could become involved if a bidder uses the USPS to mail money to them, and then it would be considered "Mail Fraud" (if travel4you5 doesn't perform or refuses to issue a refund).

EBay haș absolutely no incentive to do anything as eBay derives income based upon listing fees and successful winning bids.

When I asked for an estoppel, they sent me a fake one. And because the owner's info was blacked out, I could not look up the deed.

Also, ask "Josh" for their last name, full company name, address and phone number. Nobody from that seller's "company" or "closing company" ever provided their full name, just first name only.

Thank you everyone for your replies and advice. Yes... I did 'win' from travel4you5. Looks like I won't be owning this TS. FYI... I bid higher than my winning price of $4050, but the next highest bid was $4000, so Ebay only betters my price by $50 over.

I only "won" yesterday afternoon. What do I do now? Ignore and allow my rating to be affected. They did list the maintenance fees too low.

Tell them you will only use an independent closing and escrow company chosen by you, like LT Transfers. When they refuse, tell them you are cancelling the transaction because of that.

This is their response to me:

Hi,
National resort title will be handling the transfer for this property. They will hold escrow until transfer is complete and we have used them for years now. I will be happy to send you copy of estoppel letter but it will be with all the owners information blackened out. We will not use any other title company and NRT is the fastest one out there today. So let me know if you want me to send you the estoppel letter so you can fill out your contract and send it back today. Or if you want to just cancel this purchase.
Thanks
Josh
I would flat out tell them you want to cancel and it is because you learned they are a scam company. Be honest.

I agree. Try to Google: Travel4you5 in Sevierville, TN

.
Be careful. A friend bought a timeshare on eBay, the seller and escrow were both at the same address. It took over 4 years to finally get her $8000 back. TN finally made them give back the money through the courts. (not sure how).
The seller was from East Tennessee. They are probably the same crook and changed their name. If she hadn't kept on it, she would never have seen her money. Buyer be ware.

Also, be aware that the maintenance fees increased by 30% last year due to a major repair needed for the roof of one of the buildings. The reserve fee almost doubled and this may be an ongoing increase. My MF for a 2BR silver week was $2250 for 2023. This may be why people are selling their week.
