Just signed and want to rescind

Hi everyone- we signed an HGV Max contract for US collection for 10000 biennial for $20.9k. We want to rescind - we are still at the resort. Should we submit our rescind letter to the sales office here? I know we need to send as well to the address indicated in the contract but was wondering if it will be faster to let them know ahead. Pls advise - thank you!

Congratulations. No, the sales office doesn't handle rescinds. You will give them another crack at you. The only official process is to mail a certified letter to the address provided in your packet.

btw, HVC (Hilton Vacation Club) is IMO a terrible club to purchase either retail or resale. If you had kept that deed, it would have been hard to even give it away. So, I would recommend rescinding.

Ok will do. Do you recommend us mailing it out here at St Maarten or when we reach our home country? We will still be within 5 days if mailed from home (it will be 3rd day then). If mailed out from St Maarten, is it ok that the rescind letter is handwritten?

Handwritten is fine. What you can do for "peace of mind" is mail a letter now and follow up with another letter in 3 days (others probably more experienced, I am sure, will also add their thoughts soon). Sometimes there is an email address also.

Thank you! I’ve been reading through and haven’t seen any email address except for the Quality Assurance person who facilitated the contract signing process.

not all accept email rescission , just follow the directions they provide

Be very sure to mail your letter via REGISTERED MAIL from any Post Office you go to.......

so very happy you found TUG in time to save 21,000 bucks! that should make for YEARS worth of amazing vacations for you going forward

what resort was this?
 
What address did you send recession to? I also will be likely rescinding a purchase made at Flamingo Beach Club but instructions say send to seller but does not list an address.

Thank you for your reply Chimichangga. No, I live in Arizona and a State of Arizona Recission Rights sheet was included. I have 10 days which is good.
It says a written notice must be sent to the Seller but lists no address. The receipt for payment however lists an address of 10600 W. Charleston Blvd.
Las Vegas, NV 89135.

Perhaps I sent to both addresses. I will also take a closer look at my paperwork to see if I might have missed something else. When I get home it will be
7 days since I signed so still have a couple of days once home to handle.

You’re most welcome. You bought yours at Flamingo St Maarten too, right? It’s interesting that the purchase contract conditions would differ based on buyer. We are from Canada.
 
How many days is reasonable to hear back for a response? They have received our letter on Wednesday June 18. Also, I don’t know how to follow up since there is no email address.
 
is a good chance you wont get a response at all, just them processing the cancellation.

The guy who did the closing took my paperwork back and asked him to email me indicating that I recinded.

Two hours later , the slime ball sales guy was asking why. I had bought a 120k Deeded property, at the same time I had a Dimon Resorts 17k Points package. He said come back to the 59th floor, I have a deal you cant refuse. Magically he found something for 39k after telling me 120k was the lowest.

I said NO!

I remember him high fiving another sales rep when I closed.

That was a great feeling.

They banned me from the sales floor of Elara. When I checked in last month at the Boulevard they didn't offer me an owners update. I had the scarlet A next to my name. :) Didn't stop me from telling everyone at the resort about TUG and the benefits of buying resale.
