Just got word our 2BR LO MGC passed ROFR. How long do you think for the unit to be in my name so I can make a 2026 reservation? I’d like to lock off and deposit to II. Hopefully it will be in time to get a decent TDI. Really excited about getting some Marriott preference now in II. Any suggestions on what I should include in my on going search? Would like somewhere tropical in a 2 bedroom. Flexible on dates but was thinking May or October for shoulder season better availability.

Previous posts indicate around 90-100 days after MVC receives the deed, not after you pass ROFR. You will be waiting a while.

Which Marriott is this? Mine took 5 months

It likely will be in your name by late August.

If you need to make a reservation, and the reservation window is open (i.e. 12 months) then you could ask the current owner to make it for you and transfer it to you when funds are released. Put it all in writing.

Late August would be fine. Looks like weeks 41-43 are pretty high TDI and I would still be 12 months before that so I could shoot for one of those weeks.

First use year on a resale purchase is always kind of a wash. You may be lucky and get a good week to reserve for deposit or you might not. In the long run, it doesn't make that much of a difference.

my experience from this year,

Sent to marriott (recorded deed and all the necessary information): Feb 19th
Marriott confirmed accpetance: May 5th

So little less than 3 months. Remember, you will still need to wait for the deed recording as well.

I just deposited a 2 bedroom Marriott Grand Chateau week #43 into II last week and 2 days later I got a 2 bedroom Marriott Aruba Surf Club for Sept. 26. I think if you are looking to book the shoulder seasons you will do well.

Just another data point. I also purchased a 2BR MGC and LT let me know that March 5th the paperwork was sent to MVC. I have not heard back yet.

I had an MGV transfer completed in about 60 days this month. That is 60 days from the deed going to MVC. Your clock doesn't start until MVC get the deed.

Make sure to post your ROFR on rofr.net

I had a MGV deed deposited with MVC on March 1. The transfer was completed May 2. Yours should come through any day.
