very nice photos...thanks so much!!!!
Very nice photos....the resort looks just awesome. I do have to say that another resort----because of the unique topography, layout, landscaping, and pool ---at the Kaua'i Beach Club makes that resort superior to the others (I'm NOT an owner there) ---just MY opinion, tho (when in Hawaii, it's the outdoors that matters) ----so, it's not the units that are best, but the view and landscape! Ko'Olina and the other Marriott resorts in Hawaii are better because they're newer, BUT, the view there at the Kaua'i resort is out over the Kalapaki Beach and looking into the two (or more?) gorgeous mountains straight across the cove, and the first time I saw it from our TOP FLOOR rooms, my jaw simply dropped open.
It was beyond spectacular. We were NOT looking out over a basically FLAT scene, with only a few small hills like the other resorts, but it was a true post-card vista which I was shocked to see. It was like a framed picture. It was spellbinding. Those who have been there would attest to this. And just the pool alone is one-of-a-kind. Also, there's another unique feature: the "gazebo dining towers"--- a private single dining table set inside each area within the two-story tower........a personal "gazebo-style" area......like two huge private stone gazebos in one tall columnar structure atop each other, each with a surrounding rail, columns, and a great ceiling with chandelier----and there are a few towers, each an extention out from the veranda ...about a 30-foot walk into your private dining area. It's hard to verbally describe.....(I'm having trouble with this!!!) but you walk out into your own little world, and the service is amazing.....you feel like a king and queen for ther evening!!!! all overlooking the pool, beach, and mountains . Reservations for those are booked a week ahead, always, maybe more.
And the wrap-around "veranda" , with several sitting areas (sofas, area rugs, chairs, endtables, coffee table, etc.) , bar, and a piano player....all outdoors and "open-air", but like a hundred-yard semi-circle entertainment lounge area , was probably THE prettiest sight I've ever seen for just relaxing, during the day and especially in the evening, when all the candles were lit and the pool was lit. The torches along the beach were visible from everywhere, and it was magical. It HAS to be the most gorgeous view of any resort in Hawaii. I haven't seen most of the others, but i have seen ALL the photos from many different owners. I hope to visit Ko'Olina, Maui Ocean Club, & Waiohai some day. I'm sure all are awesome in their own ways. One of my favorite owner-friends (an attorney who goes there about two to three times a year) just loves and adores the Maui resort the best, so I have to respect his opinion, too. But I'll bet the vista is still best at Kaua'i. (I'm sure Maui has MUCH more to do than Kaua'i.)
But, that huge veranda is just unique, and made our trip !!!! You could spend all day there, lounging, then swimming, then dressing up a bit to sit at the piano bar. I hope everyone will consider Kaua'i as a destination resort NOT to miss. And while there, the boat day-trip along the Napali Coast is something that you will only hope to see at least once in your life. It is absolutely unbelievable, and the short trip to the gorgeous secret Ke'e beach is a must (go north past Princeville, and it's at the literal END of the road....you have to stop there....it's the north end of the Napali coast, and not accessible by car past Ke'e Beach....but Ke'e Beach is my definition of THE perfect beach......"soft", perfect-temp swimmer-friendly WATER which has soft-rolling waves, not a strong surf....and perfect white sand (a famous movie was filmed there) ....and the unique shade-tree canopy with exposed roots (you'll just have to see those in person...I can't explain it) is amazing. A lot of beaches in Hawaii seem to have really rough surf, and are thus NOT swimmer-friendly, but Ke'e Beach is perfect.....Also, the world-famous National Botanical Gardens there is amazing.....at first I said (upon my wife's suggestion), "Oh, brother!", but after we did it I was soooo glad------it's where they filmed Jurassic Park, and the sights and various trees and flowers are humungous and beautiful. I was more excited than my wife, and probably took a hundred pictures! Jackie Kennedy even stayed there in a private cabin once, invited by the "king" of Hawaii. The kids even had a blast.
And, Not to forget to visit: the beach and hotel at Princeville on the North Shore....a world-famous view and hotel, featured this year on Travel Channel's top 10 hotels (it overlooks Hanalei Bay---you know: "Puff, the Magic Dragon" song) . What a view! Now that may take the cake for a hotel with a view!!!! Anyway, I've now almost talked myself unto booking a Hawaii trip again! Hmmmmmmm. But where????

Aloha! Marty (jme) THE END
