My mil owns a timeshare at Jupiter Reef, FL. Anyone know if this timeshare can be sold (vs. given away) and if so, at what value approximately? I don't know what week she owns. It does give about 21 tpu's in rci, so I assume that's a 1 bedroom.

One oft-mentioned recommendation here on TUG to find out the approximate resale value of a particular TS is to log into E-Bay and look for completed auctions to see what they actually sold for. If you see that a number of units at that particular resort closed without garnering any bids, then that's an indication that you (or your MIL) will just have to try to give it away.

You can also check sites like this one, My Resort Network, Red Week, etc. to see what units at that resort are listing for. Then, you can try to list your MIL's unit for about, or slightly lower than, the lowest-priced unit and see what attention it attracts.

Thanks! I didn't see it listed for sale on any of those places.

If you own at Jupiter Reef Club check out these listings from the resort.

This resort claims to be casually upscale what ever that really means and says they are the only resort directly on the beach in that area. That could add value. It appears to be a small independent resort which many people seek out.

If this is not what you own then google can be your friend in finding units for sale at your resort.

Another nice thing about this resort is that they will rent out your unit for you if you are not interested in using it (for just about annual costs). Perhaps that is why my MIL is not interested in selling this even though she never uses it. :/
