What supplies items are supplied as standard in any of the MVC that I don't need to worry about bringing/buying? I have only stayed in one before so have no experience. We are going to Marriott Grande Vista in Orlando at the end of October.

In the kitchen, there will be liquid dish detergent, packets of detergent for the dishwasher, paper towels, some kind of scrubber for dishes, coffee filters, regular and decaf coffee packets, a small sampler box of coffee additives, and trash bags. Small shakers of salt and pepper are often provided, but I'm not sure if they're always there.

In each bathroom, there will be one tube each of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion, plus a couple of bar soaps.

At Grande Vista, pool towels are provided at the pools, so you don't have to lug them from the room.

There are probably a few other things, but this is all I can remember right now. Others should chime in the items I've missed.

It varies a bit by location. The kitchen is generally well stocked, dishes, pots and pans, cooking utensils, coffee maker and toaster. I bring my own coffee and a bunch of ziplock bags for leftovers. I also bring a cooler bag and a freezer ice pack to pack drinks and snacks for day trips. Sometimes there is a blender.
Hair dryer in the bathroom. Little sample soaps and coffee packets. Clock radio/ alarm clock. There are pool towels that can go to the beach if there is one.
Anything specific you are wondering about?

Are you asking about disposable items? At most MVC, there are approx. 7 packets of dishwasher detergent. Marriott wants you to use the ones supplied, so they give ample amounts.

A small bottle of dish detergent (maybe 2 ounces?)-maybe enough for a week if you don't wash too many dishes. If the unit is a 2 bedroom lock out, you may get 2.

There are usually 2 rolls of paper towels, a handful of garbage bags and a sponge.

Salt and pepper shakers contain a teaspoon or less so you might want to bring from home.

Coffee - we bring our own coffee and splenda/sugar. There are a few coffee filters (basket type) supplied.

Usually one or two boxes of laundry soap are supplied. We have eczema so we bring our own detergent, either powder measured into individual zip lock bags or Tide Pods (in a hard plastic container).

A few bars of bath soap, and small off brand shampoo.

For my family of 4, we have always had enough toilet paper and tissues.

Hope this is what you are looking for. Have a great vacation!

If you need more TP, just call and ask for it and they will send more. Though I wouldn't expect to have soap, shampoo or other items like that replaced once used. Though they will give you more dishwasher detergent since they prefer that you use theirs. Even though I have found they are all just using Cascade three pack samples packs now. We tend to bring our owns soaps, shampoo and laundry detergent. The one small box ofsingle use Tide is good for a load perhaps streatched to two.

While we have never requested extra soap bars, shampoo or laundry detergent (as we bring our own) they have always been great at re-supplying toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, dishwasher soap, and paper towels upon request.

The full kitchen is well-stocked. Generally you will find: blender, coffee maker, dish towels and hot pads, placemats, silverware, various cups plates & bowls, pots & pans, cutting board & knives, large salad bowl, Pyrex baking dish and/or casserole dish, baking sheet or tray, 3 Tupperware containers with lids, plastic pitcher, various kitchen utensils.

We have stayed in enough Marriotts we are aware of kitchen items which should be included and they are pretty standard. In a few timeshares we have even seen a kitchen inventory list attached to the inside of a kitchen cabinet.

I did not know we were no supposed to use their brand of dishwasher powder. If I've run out I always have some of my own pods along.

The salt and pepper are tiny. You need more if you're there more than a day. There are a few bars of soap per sink. Only 1 little hotel size shampoo and conditioner. I've always had enough TP. They give very little washing machine detergent.

The last couple have had acoubter spray. I missed it the first few times and always take some Clorox wipes now for that.

They will give you more dishwasher powder because they hope you use the dishwasher to clean the dishes. They will also give you pretty much anything you want to clean with. From paper towels and cleaning spray to everything in between. The more cleaning guests do the less work for the staff.

There are never egg cups in any of the US Marriott's I've stayed in, the European one's have them. What do people use to house their boiled eggs in?

You can always get anything you want replaced in your room by simply asking any of the maids who have their cleaning cart each morning. They will happily give you more. Just tip them to be nice. In the evening you just need to call. The only thing we ever bring is our own shampoo and pump soap for the bathrooms.

I can't see how a bowl would suffice. Surely the egg needs to be held firmly in place in order that one can dip one's soldiers in?

I have never seen Americans eat a dippy egg at breakfast! Been here 51 years!

Agree. I don't think most Americans have these egg cups in their own kitchens, so definitely wouldn't find them in American timeshares.

I have egg cups only because my father used to like soft boiled eggs. They are small enough to pack in your suitcase so bring them with you.

The one item that I think MVC properties lack in terms of supplies is a decent size recycling container in the room. They give you the bathroom size blue bin that pretty much holds a handful of recyclables. I usually keep a couple paper bags from grocery/shopping and use them instead of the blue bucket.

It must be different from location to location. We've had the recycling bins the same size as the trash cans at the last several places we've stayed (Grande Ocean, Manor Club, Crystal Shores)
