It is possible to cancel a points booking at the 15 day window, and then immediately re-book using Bonus Time?

I have a booking that I booked inside the discount window, that will soon be at the 15 day cancellation point. I think I might need the points tied up in that booking to make another one later in the year that I can't borrow from, so I want to free those points up.

The suite I want is available still.

In theory, I should be able to book using Bonus Time (for cash) at 15 days AND cancel my existing points reservation to get full refund. Correct? Assuming availability, I know the suite I have booked will not immediately go back into inventory.

Or vice versa? If you make a Bonus Time Booking AT the 15 day mark, you should be able to cancel it on that day only?

You cannot book bonus time until 14 days from checkin.

If you cancel your reservation at 15 days out, you have to hope your reservation will still be there at 14 days out. It is risky, it would depend on how sure you are that it'll still be there at 14 days, weighed with how badly you want that reservation (can you afford to lose it if it doesn't work out)?

Ok, thanks, for whatever reason I was thinking you could book bonus time at 15 days too
About a week ago, I tried to book bonus time right at 14 days and it made me wait til 1am ET on the 14th day. I'm guessing that was a bug? I am in the Central Time Zone, so it made me wait til midnight my time. Usually times seem to be ET - would be interesting to hear what type of experiences people in the ET are having. Do ET'ers have a 1 hour advantage (that typically has not be true on other things, as far as I can tell). But that 1 hour 'hole' could make a difference if you are thinking you are going to book something right at 14 days.

Perhaps test it out by changing the system clock on your computer or device?

I might, lol, depends on how ambitious I get. I am going to be in ET soon, was thinking I'd try it then (make easier approach, I'm pretty sure I was on my phone/mobile app - can't remember if I tried the desktop also, if I pursure checking it out, I need to pay more attention overall :) .
