Is Vidanta Nuevo "dying"?

Hi everyone. We had a 3-week booking at Vidanta PV and Nuevo in Jan/Feb 2025, but we had to cancel because of surgery. Vidanta allowed cancellation with surgeon's letter.

We just heard from a close friend who recently came back from Vidanta GL Nuevo that the resort is "dying". The pools were empty. Employees were let go.

Can anyone report back about the recent situation at Vidanta Nuevo? THanks!

I saw no such "dying" there in Jan 2025 stays.

We were at the Mayan Palace PV - Marina in February for 2 weeks & the resort was full.

Our friends were at the MP - NV for 2 weeks in mid - February [ including Mexican open week ].
We visited them for an afternoon and the resort was plenty busy.
