We also purchased into the trust 10k points already own a deed 8k which we bought in resale. The “incentive” for me was the ability to use many different properties which I can’t even see as a HGVC member. I currently have 8k but use annually beach vacation where I own. Question: they showed many properties ie Greece for example, and availability in summer months, If not trust how would I access? I was ready to buy Wyndham because each time we’ve needed reservations ie Flagstaff, Daytona I ended up using a family member’s Wyndham TS.

They are combining my points so I have 18k vs 2 different system. I looked at resales but not sure if I was searching correctly because I couldn’t find trust sales. Also I was told the Dex? Exchange also had more brands than RCI. Thoughts? TIA!

trust resales have restrictions on use. reputable realtors will not help resell them. the properties and availability the sales staff show in a sales presentation are not accurate.

Thanks!! So that is a negative. My only option when I stop using it is to give it back. I didn’t find any trust resales.

We went online as if booking the property. In the max system, for June many were unavailable but there were still availability, much more than RCI and seemed like better locations.

@Maria Mccarthy Congrats on finding TUG.

Rescind now while you can. You only have a few days and that deal will always be there if you research and want it later. For deedback you would have to pay the developer over $1000 fee and future year maintenance fees (without use) to get rid of it.

But here is the kicker: The deedback program for trust is currently on hold so you would be stuck. Just read about this Trust Owner who hasn't been able to get out for almost a year.

We can help you research to find much more cost effective and superior ways to find the availability you desire with your deeded resale using using RCI.

Thoughts?
In trust we trust, or not. More research. More learning. Less call to action. People who have lived 30, 36, 41, 47, 59, whatever years without something all of a sudden find the need to buy something JUST BECAUSE IT WAS SHOVED IN THEIR FACE. Somehow they lived that long without it but all of a suddn "Gotta have it!"
Just. Slow. Down.

So spoke at length to Hilton. What remains is the 10,000 points no max benefit etc if sell. So not great but not much worse than a deeded property I think.

Thanks! I just rejoined. I’ve been hgv since 2008. Im pretty maxed out with RCI where I want to go. Ive had great trips Vegas, NY, New Orleans for Mardi Gras, NY in December. Crane Barbados. St Marteen. Costa Rica, the last 2 not great resorts. No complaints. I just want more access to more locations. Possibly will do the Hilton Scotland route but I think owning there has its own challenges. I also already visited there in December for NYE celebration in Edinburgh. A bit too remote a location for my taste. But maybe different in the summer.

But it is much worse than deeded HVC/DRI property. With deeded resale property you can still trade in DeX. With resale trust points, you can only trade in your collection. That is my understanding of the HVC/DRI resale properties.

It still is your decision on what to do. Just remember that the salesperson is only trying to make a sale.
