Hi Everyone,

I need some advice...

Is this a good deal for a St. Thomas Margaritaville contract:

- $6,500
- 440K/annual Points
- Maint fee $230/month

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

The maintenance fees at this resort are $6.35 per thousand points without the program fee. There's a listing on eBay for 587,000 points at Smoky Mountains. The maintenance fees are at that resort are $5.78 without the program fee. The seller has a buy it now price of $1500 which includes the closing cost and transfer fees but is willing to take offers. I'd start with offering $800-$1000 but wouldn't go any higher than maybe $1200-$1300 if they make a counter offer. The seller doesn't have a huge amount of feedback but they do have enough that I wouldn't be nervous about dealing with them. Also they accept payment by PayPal. I'd use a credit card linked to my PayPal account as that will give you the most protection.

I noticed that the seller offers a BOGO. There can be some hidden gems in those BOGO lists if you know what to look for. It can be a great way to get something at a low maintenance fee resort that gives you an RCI points account. We've found our RCI points account to be a fantastic supplement to what we have with Wyndham.

RCI is a great option. Some really nice resorts can be booked very inexpensively.

Yes I would consider that a decent deal if you have your heart set on Margaritaville but if it were me I would wait for A Contract on eBay for half that or less

If OP is patient this ownership can be found for under $500 total including all closing and resort transfer fees.
