We've never been to Atlantis and would like to one day but I've been searching and looks like there's no Marriott property in Atlantis. Found a Starwood property which is Atlantis - Harborside Resort... Anyone here been to Atlantis and if so, where have you stayed. Is Atlantis a huge area that consists of many different resorts? Did you exchange your ts ownership to get into Atlantis?

The Atlantis itself is now affiliated with Marriott. You can use MR points there now. We stayed at the Harborside both times we were there. Reports on the Atlantis hotel rooms are that they could use some TLC. Not sure if the new affiliation with Marriott will help with that or not.

Atlantis has the Atlantis Hotel, and the Starwood Harborside at Atlantis timeshare - separately managed, on the same property. I don't know of any other resorts on the same property.

Marriott owners can use points to book hotel units - I don't know the details.

Many Starwood owners have stayed at the Harborside at Atlantis timeshare.

It's a difficult resort to exchange into, but you might get a fall exchange, if you put in a on-going request well in advance with II. There are a lot of Harborside rentals by owners.

We stayed at Harborside last November through a private rental and really enjoyed it. The timeshare property itself was not spectacular, reminded me alot of Cypress Harbor (big property, good but not great pool) but it is adjacent to Atlantis and has access privileges.

Atlantis is a neat property, and great for kids/teens. We will go back infrequently but really enjoyed it. Puck did a trade with another TUGger and you may be able to do the same with DC Points.

Best,

Greg

There is no Marriott Vacation Club at Atlantis.

The five major resort hotels of Atlantis are all affiliated with the Autograph Collection, Marriott's "evolving ensemble of strikingly independent hotels." They are not managed by Marriott, but are operated under a franchise agreement with Marriott and benefit from Marriott's marketing and participation in Marriott Rewards.
  • Atlantis, Royal Towers, Autograph Collection
  • The Cove Atlantis, Autograph Collection
  • Atlantis, Coral Towers, Autograph Collection
  • Atlantis, Beach Tower, Autograph Collection
  • The Reef Atlantis, Autograph Collection
The resorts above can be booked with Marriott Rewards points. The Rewards categories range from 7 to 9.

These resorts are not available through the Marriott Vacation Club Explorer Collection with Vacation Club (Marriott Destinations program) Points.

In comparison, Harborside Resort at Atlantis is a Starwood Vacation Ownership (Starwood timeshares) property. Guests are allowed access to Atlantis. Harborside Resort at Atlantis is affiliated with Interval International, but has a reputation of being difficult to get through an II exchange (especially for II members who are trying to use timeshare resorts that are not part of Starwood Vacation Ownership).

There's one other property whose guests are allowed access to Atlantis: Comfort Suites Paradise Island.

One clarification: It's not located on the Atlantis property.

Before you consider going through Marriott to book a hotel room at Atlantis, you might want to read the threads about it on FlyerTalk.com. Taxes and fees are HUGE, and even points reservations appear to take a pretty good chunk of cash.

Also, carefully consider the time of year you're going. It can be crazy busy.

Absolutely incredible water park, though. We spent a week there a few years ago, and would love to go back.

I don't beleive Marriott has any affiliated hotels in the Bahamas except for Atlantis. It is an Autograph Collection. Affiliated in that you can book it on Marriott.com and use MR points to stay there. It is not managed by Marriott International that I am aware of.

There used to be a Marriott hotel on Cable Beach, but it changed affiliations years ago. There also used to be a MVCI property there, not purpose built by Marriott. Though it was dropped many years ago also.
