Hi sorry if the answer is obvious. I'm a noob and after saveonresorts closed their list I can't find another with presentation opportunities.

How do you guys find timeshare presentation deals?

Do you just call Marriott Westin etc directly and ask?

Thanks

For the most part, presentations aren't highly regarded around here. Most Tuggers are already owners, and if they attend a presentation, it's at their home resort, or a resort they exchange in to.

I see what you mean. I'm also an owner and exchange through Rci.

Just wondering if anyone knows a website for presentation opportunities since I saw a recent thread where members were discussing them.

Thnx

The only discussion you're likely to see here is how their trinkets are simply not worth taking a few minutes- or hours- out of valuable vacation time. The days of hundreds of dollars are long gone. They want to ply you with meal coupons and golf fees and parking passes to listen to their lies. Whooppee!

Are you looking for cheap tour packages or free gifts during your stay? Majority of resorts have onsite sales and you would be compensated more or less for a sales presentation. Tour packages are discounted short stay package. You are obligated to attend sales presenation in order to receive the promo rate. Either way, it costs you more to get the gifts/moeny you would like to have.

Just looking for deals in general related to attending a sales pitch.

no specific source

I don't have one specific source for timeshare presentation deals. typically what I do is call individual timeshare properties, ask for the marketing department and ask what they are willing to offer. There is very little song and dance to it.

Most of the time you will be offered a discounted rate for a few nights stay. example 4 days 5 nights all inclusive at villa del palmar in loreto for about $450. Hilton does a similar package for honolulu for a couple hundred more.

a lot of people prefer to not do the T/S presentations, but it sound slike you actually don't mind doing them.

I think the important thing is to not plan a trip around a timeshare presentation, but rather plan a T/s around a trip. meaning that it would not be a smart thing to buy tickets to hawaii to go to the T/S, but if you are already going to hawaii, why not fit a T/S presentation in exchange for your stay.

The RCI resorts that offer them usually come up when you browse an area on the endless vacation rentals website. They come up in purple on the search list of hotels. Sometimes the savings are not that much more than the regular rental rate but they throw in free tickets or something. Usually not worth the aggravation unless it is a resort you are considering buying at. I don't mean that you would buy from them but you could learn information about the resort before bidding on a resale purchase.

I see a need for a website. Here's an opportunity for some entrepreneurial person to research and post a continually updated list, hopefully segregated by geographical boundaries of who gets what, where. This would make it handy to book your updates. Deciding whether to take one just for the parking pass for instance, or to hold out for a certain 'body snatcher' at the local mall for a cash deal.

I can foresee booking a trip just for the timeshare presentations. You could also link TUG and other resale and rental sites so people (marks, prospects, etc) could just print out pictures, reviews of the 'closers' so they would kn ow who the 'players' are.

The site could also be a clearing house for resale sales and sell T-shirts so as to save time at the presentations. It would save time and the sales staff would know instantly on seeing their marks in 'Presentations R Us dot com' shirts' could just send them off to the gift desk without wasting time in the salesroom. No balloons, applause or arm twisting.

How convenient.... Anyone? :hysterical:

We have a resort promotions tab for each resort in the database, however its highly underutilized.

Tug brian or anyone could you please link me to the resource you mentioned? I'm totally new to your site.

I agree not to plan a large trip around the presentation but sometimes it gives inspiration for a trip. For example. I saw a bunch of opportunities in Orlando and basically got hotel and park tickets all taken care of with 2 hrs of my super super valuable time. I actually really enjoy the presentations. They treat me nice and show me luxurious stuff that I would prob not even see after I bought lol. Then I alway set my phone alarm to go off and say you said 60 min. Times up and walk. It's amusing to see how upset people can get in the face of logic.

In any case your help is greatly appreciated.

Anyone know a specifically good deal for the big island of hawaii?

Thnx

It's in the TUG resort reviews, and you have to be a TUG member to access it. However, as Brian said, there haven't been many listings.

Most of the time you need some sort of offer code or invitation code, as the customer service people can't/won't/don't pull up offers without them. In the past, I received mailers based on my hotel loyalty programs and apparently I was on some sort of list for the better ones (I once got a DVC one in 2004 when they were pushing SSR). Those have dramatically decreased since the boom days. Can't hurt to call and ask, but I know that Westin and Marriott won't do them w/o the offer codes.

we have always had an open offer to let anyone publish or post resort promos on that tab...but id say maybe 1 in 100 resorts have anything in the database.

Targeting to book "full price" tour guests on a site that will recommend Rescind and buy Resale for 99.9999 % of all inquiries on developer purchases would be a waste of time.

Perhaps someone could send you a month old copy of Interval and RCI's print magazines. The major brands advertise in the II magazine some even include a number to call

Found a 2011 Interval World

There were offer codes for

Hyatt - Key West, Carmel, Sedona 800 233 1234

Starwood 800 847 8262

Camping World CampingWorld.com

Diamond Resorts Branson, Orlando, Williamsburg 877 503 2824

Preferred Residences PreferredResidences.com

Missing from the ads but still in sales mode is Marriott

I do not have any 2013 issues and never have been an RCI member
