I am staying at River Island and I was wondering if there is backway to get into disney without have to go down to Irlo Bronson (192).

I don't see an obvious on on google maps, but I thought I head that there was.

In looking at Google Maps it appears you can turn right (west) out of the resort (from Orange Lake Blvd) onto 192, then right again onto 429 and north up to Western Way (exit 8?) & then go right on Western Way to Buena Vista Drive. There are connections to all the roads to the various parts of Disney off Buena Vista. It seems to be a bit of a twisty way but you'll only be on 192 for a few hundred yards.

When we stayed at Orbit One (on 192) we used Sherberth Rd which was opposite the resort's driveway to get into Disney.

The Western Way entrance would probably be the easiest. Once you are on WDW property, getting around is fairly easy, though it can be a bit of a drive from one place to another. There is apparently a new Skyline Chili restaurant over in Flamingo Crossing that is near that same Western Way entrance. So if you like or want to try Cincinnati chili, check it out.

I checked, FL-429 (toll road) to Western Way, then Western Way east to Buena Vista Dr (cast members all it "BVD") is about the same distance as Irlo Bronson (FL-192) to the Magic Kingdom. Time may be quicker, but it all depends on the time of day. As a side note, starting today for the next 2 weeks, I am training for Disney Transportation (bus driver), which means I am "backstage" (what guests see is what we call "onstage"). I worked for the last 6 weeks at Disney Springs.

I hope you have a phenomenal time here at Walt Disney World, the holiday decorations, holiday food, and entertainment are up!

We were at Orange Lake over Thanksgiving Break and they are definitely adding a third entrance/exit from the property that puts you right near Flamingo Crossings/Western Way entrance to WDW without getting on 429. Not sure when it’s opening but we saw the newly paved road and entrance sign.

I looked at google maps trying to see where the new road is - could you describe how it connects (will connect) into the property? (ie is it on the West side of the tollway or East etc)? Thanks!

As of November 2024 the entrance is now open I am staying there this week. It enters from Hartzog road on the back of the property. Basically drops you right near Flamingo Crossings where you can access the Western Way Disney entrance as well as the Flaningo Crossings shops and restaurants. Orange Lake built this as part of a residential development they did on the back side of the property in order to link into Flaningo Crossings and Disney. This is now the fastest entrance into the property if you are coming from 429. It is most convenient if you are staying on the North Village side. This is going to be a huge benefit as it totally avoids the need to deal with any traffic on 192 now completely avoiding having to pay the toll on 429.
