Is it worth owning a Sheraton only to trade with II?

It seems like the prices on some Sheraton resorts are low right now. Even though annual fees are high, would it be reasonable to purchase for trading with Starwood preference? How do these trade in general? I was thinking possibly Broadway Plantation or PGA.

This article, from the Owner Resources sticky, is about how Starwood exchanges with II.

And this recent thread is helpful.

One more idea - you could check the Sightings board to see what Starwood Owners can see on II.

Yes, it is worth it - and even though the fees are high - consider getting a 2BR lock-off to cut the fee in half - 2 1BRs = 2 exchanges into a 1 or 2BR week..a great deal - and with the 3 day Starwood preference -

I agree, on both counts. I was able to use my WMH to get WKORV via II (which shouldn't be possible...). :)

The Westin Hawaii resorts are frequently available but do not generally make it past the 3 day Starwood preference.

No, not Christmas, NY, Easter and Presidents week.
No, your view is not guarenteed
No, not EVERY week is available .....
No, it is NOT as good as owning a particular view nad getting a great view every year ....

Perhaps more common now that they have a surplus of rooms. At the moment, they're just about trying to give away certain weeks via rental (SPG point rewards, $200/night for studio for owners, etc).
