Is all inclusive in Jamaica worth it?

I've been thinking about taking a Jamaica vacation with the family this next summer and looking at all inclusive resorts.

They seem pretty expensive and when I look on sites like Expedia I'm not sure if the price is that much different. On RCI you really only get the choice between a 1 or 2 bedroom whereas there seem to be more options on Expedia with views and such.

Am I missing anything here? Anyone been to an all inclusive through RCI?

Jamaica is an impoverished, 3rd world country - my concern would be their management of COVID and ability to provide high quality medical care to US travelers, if needed.

There are very few timeshare all-inclusives that are worth it. You are correct, you are better off booking with all cash through an ordinary travel agency.

II & RCI provide the "option" to book an all-inclusive -- that doesn't make it a good option. You are right to compare costs with other providers. NEVER "Exchange" into an all-inclusive. You waste the value of your week. If it makes sense to purchase with Cash through the Exchange companies, do that, but do NOT exchange.

I have done several comparison/analysis of all inclusives on RCI and Interval. In general, you are usually better off just purchasing direct from the resort (or Expedia/Kayak/Travelocity, whatever). The point being that using RCI and Interval does not offer any real value, UNLESS you are using points and they are cheap enough to get a room for a couple of hundred dollars. Note; there is no value in getting a 1 or 2 bedroom units. You pay more for these just to have a kitchen which you dont need when doing all inclusive. You can even purchase all inclusives as getaways on II and RCI. Agian, they are not necessarily any cheaper nor any more expensive, you just have to compare prices.

I would also point out that there are some less expensive all inclusives in Mexico over Jamaica. Specifically Cancun, Cabo or Puerto Vallarta. Villa del Palmar would be one that should be less expensive, and they have resorts in all 3 of these mexican locations.
