Is 2011 the Year of Google TV?

Is 2011 the Year of Google TV? Maybe Not. - by Kevin Hunt/Tribune Newspapers

Maybe 2011 won't be the year of Google TV. (Not unless Hollywood becomes a partner.) So let's start small.

Richard

Not everything boils down to "searching". Furthermore, I don't think people are anxious to have another piece of hardware to buy and deal with like the Logitech device being sold for google tv. I read recently in Engadget that Windows Media Center embedded into home theater hardware has a promising future. Whether its media center or some other software, IMO it must be embedded into home theater components such as a monitor, AV receiver, DVD, or DVR to be successful.

Sorry, but I plan to use my new 60" LED to watch TV (sports, movies and occasional sit-coms, not for net covergence, not for apps or widgets, and not to substitute for my laptop. Bah-Humbug.
with two exceptions: streaming netflix + pandora.
