Well you better call ASAP and give them all of your personal information.

I refer the two names above to this website. LOL
Thanks for the heads up. As silly as this sounds there are people that are not savvy and in fact do fall for these scams.
Even the well heeled and savvy techno smart get caught up in these issues. It's not to be taken lightly.

I'm thinking of starting a new email address because of all of the crap being sent to me. The crap show was manageable but now I get bad emails and calls every day.

Send any calls not in your contacts list straight to voice mail.

I quit answering the phone for the most part. The ring tone is off. If some one really wants to get a hold on me they know how or they can leave a message. Sometimes I see who is calling so I answer but for the most part I'm only answering through an app.

Tuggers, the IRS, will never send you an email asking you to call them an using an Alaska telephone number. The IRS, will always notify you in writing. Please just be careful, there are many bad guys in the world.

but you might get calls from a spoofed DC number. It can be fun to talk to them...

According to the spammers, I'm delinquent on my SunPass account.
... Even though I closed it 3 months ago with a credit that was refunded.
And no, I don't want to sell my house, nor have my roof inspected.

Getting a new email will just kick the can down the road. Trust me, I know. I have my own .com domain, so I can create an infinite number of new email addresses instantly. I used to create a new one for each company I dealt with. For example, if Marriott wanted an email, I would create marriott@<mydomain>.com . All of those emails would be directed into my single inbox for simplicity. The theory was if one email started getting spam, 1) I would know who leaked it, and 2) I could just shut it off.

In theory it sounded great, but in reality I found out that every single email address started getting spam almost immediately. Then it was just a pain to manage all of those email addresses.

The best solution I have found is to use a quality email client that has good spam filters. I have been happy with Outlook, as there are very few spam emails that get through to my inbox with it.
