My son has an IPOD (the larger one). I know nothing about it, I hope someone can help. He says it "freezes", and sometimes when he is trying to load songs from a CD, the names of the songs will not appear. What appears is track 1, track 2, etc. Can someone please help us resolve these issues. Please make it simple. Thank you so very much for your help, as always!

I am not an IPOD expert by any means, but, whenever mine has frozen, I let the battery run down, recharge and then it is ok.

The only thing I think I would do with the song titles, is to check ITUNES after the cd is loaded, and edit the titles. I suspect these are CDs that are compilations from friends, and not "for sale" cds. Usually on purchased Cds Itunes goes to the internet for all the data.

A good site for all things IPOD is www.ipodgarage.com They have message boards to answer questions.

I handle my screen freezes the same way as Bruce W wrote. It usually happeens when my batteries are getting low-ish.

For track1, track2 etc song titles, all he needs to do is edit them in the software. I have some original CDs where the titles don't transfer over. Sometimes it's a pain, but <shrug>.

You don't have to let the battery run down. Essentially what you're doing is resetting it. All the ipods have a reset sequence. Look it up on Apple's support web site or in the documention and try the reset sequence instead.

Thanks everyone for your help. I was able to help my son resolve the problem. Went on Google (forget what site), when it freezes hit I think select & menu. As far as the tracks appearing instead of the names click on advanced. He said it works. (Thanks Mom)
