Marriott timeshare owner for 24 years. I have recently received two calls from VRBO about putting free stay certificates I receive
every year into the II Rental Program. Was told there is no commission to II, but one has to lifetime enroll in the rental program at several
thousand dollar cost. I have no interest in doing that, but have never heard of the II rental program? We use our five weeks a year and
don't use II except still receive these annual certificates. Any info re membership in II rental program and success rates?

It is a scam. You don't have any free stays through interval nor do they allow you to rent out anything you get from them. Interval rents out themselves and does want or need vrbo or Interval members to act as a middle man.

Yep, scam.

literally noone legitimate in this industry makes cold calls to owners with offers to rent/sell/buy your timeshare...only scammers.

Got the same call. They knew all the certificates I had, when they expired etc.
I didn’t bite but wondering where they got the info. I know the time shares are public but wondering how they knew specifics on certificates in my II account?

It may be because many of the certificates in our accounts are issued to everyone with the same info in them like expiration date. I have three different II accounts and the same certificates pop up in each of them with identical terms/dates.
