September 2024 made an exchange for 12/20 to 12/27/2025 into Hilton Kaanapali Beach Resort.
This is former Diamond Resorts, and long ago Embassy Suites.
(I'm only now wondering why Hilton was available through II. But I digress.)
At the front desk early, I was pleased to learn my room was available. After getting my room key, as I was walking away, my name was called and the front desk person waved to me to come back. She asked if I had 2 reservations for this same week. No.
Confirmed my address was the same on both. Yes.
Then she noticed the other reservation had a notation of "promo" and was for an ocean view room.
I asked if I could switch and she said yes. I did, and I have a lovely room with a view.
Front desk person suggested I call II and explain what happened.
Later, I checked my II account and found the one Reservation. I was reluctant to call II.
(I wanted to stay in this room.)
I figured it was between II and the Hotel.
Was I wrong to "let sleeping dogs lie?
What would you do?
