Interval exchange using EEE points

Hi, I have some EEE points that expire on 12/11/23. When I search on Interval for an exchange, the only search option offered is using my 2023 Hyatt points. If I do an instant exchange, is the system smart enough to use my almost expired EEE points instead of my 2023 allotment? Also, do I have to check in by the expiration date, or just book the exchange on Interval by the EEE expiration date?

Based on my limited experience the system does use the points that expire sooner and you can travel during dates beyond the expiration date if something is available. Others with more experience will be able to confirm this as well.

Best regards.

Mike

That is my experience too.

That is absolutely how it works. Oldest points first. Make a reservation with any "about to expire" points to save them. I always have a few hundred banked, it seems.

I just recently used EEE points that were expiring to book via Interval. You should call the Hyatt desk as they have a dedicated team who handles the II reservations and you’ll avoid a long wait on the phone. The system will automatically apply your EEE points first. As long as you book the reservation before the points expire, your reservation/check-in date can be up to two years out.

Thanks everyone. My Hyatt Residence Club account today showed the points correctly taken from my oldest EEE bank.
