I’m fairly new to II (joined Marriott last year) but learning new things all the time. I deposited my week in June (did 2 deposits with my 2BR LO as I learned on here) and I got 2 certificates. Then I realized I had a freebie certificate in there that expires in Nov. I’m looking for an Oct Orlando week. There’s plenty in July, Aug and Sept but USA is not listed for searching in Oct. Will this change as summer goes on? There are a MULTITUDE of Sept weeks so am I correct to think that some weeks will become available in Oct?

October is an odd month for Orlando and II. Going back almost as long as I can remember, II always seemed to hold back October getaways or they would be very high priced. The same seems to be true of accommodation certificates.

Do you see Marriott weeks with your AC from a Marriott deposit? The ACs I get from deposits don't see Marriott weeks but the random free AC I get does. I'm looking for a Nov 1 week in Orlando.

It seems I have the same freebie you have but mine expires on October 25 and can search up to the expiration date. I can't see any USA for October either but a bunch of Orlando into September.

Do you see Marriott weeks with your AC from a Marriott deposit? The ACs I get from deposits don't see Marriott weeks but the random free AC I get does. I'm looking for a Nov 1 week in Orlando.

Mine is the same way. The AC from the Marriott deposit allows you to do a search similar to searching for an exchange but when you enter the codes for some of the “better” Orlando properties, I get a message that says something to the effect of…these resorts are excluded

Thanks for the reply! It's a bit frustrating that the random free AC can pull what I want but just happens to expire right before my desired check-in date. I hope I get another one for November.

My experience with the certificate is the closer you get to the month more properties and locations will open up

The problem is that the AC expires November 5th, which means you have to check out by that date. It also means one has to checkin by October 29th. An issue with that is that October 29th is a Wednesday, meaning no checkin days. The latest available checkin day might be October 27th if one can get a Monday checkin at resorts that offer it. Otherwise it will be the 26th. If you want to go in November, this freebie AC won't work unless they extend it. Which is something they've been known to do.

I’d be fine with any of the Marriotts or Sheraton Vistana Villages.
FYI, Marriott Grand Vista and Cypress Harbour have check in dates Monday, Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun so that may increase your chances of getting something to work and to get use of your AC!

You might turn something better up if you search for a region or use the map. I think the search by resort name or code has the restriction on it where it checks against the list of excluded properties, but searching by region or map won't. That still doesn't mean a restricted resort will come up, but it may give you more options as they do often make Marriott resorts available on ACs.
