Interval Cancellation Options

Hi there, I have a 1BR week at Four Seasons Aviara (FSA) that I obtained through II, checking in 12/12/2025 through 12/19/2025. We're stuck because my mom in law had a stroke and is going to need our stay at home presence when we bring her home from the hospital/rehab. I called II, and they indicated I cancel the reservation and they will give me a replacement week that will be valid for a year, with a 30 day reservation restriction (i.e., I will only be able to book last minute availability). Does this sound right, or does anyone know of any other options?

Edit: I should add, I booked this exchange using Hyatt EEE points, not sure if that matters at all, I'm guessing it doesn't.

That sounds right. As you are within the 30 day Flexchange window, any retrades are limited to 30 days from the current date and a cancellation replacement week would be limited to exchanges within a 30 day window. What did you use to trade into the resort?

We exchanged in with Hyatt EEE points, around 1250 of them if I recall correctly.
