I purchased tickets for some interisland travel in July from Oahu to Maui for the afternoon. If we wanted to travel a bit earlier in the day, would HA allow that? Do they charge extra (like everything else)? Is it stand-by?

thanks!!

Hawaiian will allow you to fly standby, but in July it is unlikely that you will get a seat. July is very busy and all the mainland flights arrive between 11:00 and 6:00, so the interisland flights tend to be completely full during that time, with long standby lines. It doesn't hurt to ask, but we haven't ever had luck getting on an earlier afternoon flight in July.

Hi Hawaiian let you standby for many years at no charge. Within the last year they changed their policy to charging a change fee to standby for all but their elite customers. I have tried twice this year for a free change (hoping to find a kind agent) without success. Plan to keep your original itinerary or pay a change fee. Don
