Here is an eBay transaction of a WKORVN timeshare that took place last night. I had been watching this auction because of its low price and actually emailed the seller about it. I ask the typical questions, "would you have a problem using Resort Closings Inc, what view do you own, what week do you have booked," etc...
The seller responded back to me about three hours before the auction ended with an email stating, "Every Even Year North Villas Ocean View 2 and 2 which can be used as 1 and 1 every year...Star option of 148,000 points...First usage is this year !!! Maintenance already paid for 2008 ($846)...This is a Lockoff unit with a floating week 40
Of course you can use Resort Closings,Inc!!!!"
About 30 minutes before the auction close, the bid amount was just over $10,000. I was trying to justify bidding on the property. Hmm... split the unit, rent the studio for just about enough money to pay the annual fees ($1700), deposit the 1BR and get an AC and a great trade, end up with a free week EOY, yada yada yada.
Anyway the price of the unit more than doubled in the last 12 minutes! Now, going back and reading the listing again, it makes me wonder if the buyer even knows that he purchased an EOY timeshare.?.?
Probably not, at that price.
