Instant Exchange/7500 Point exchange

Does the RCI Instant Exchange/7500 Point exchange program still exist? I no longer see availability and these bargain purchases was why I got a RCI points resale in the first place. If this program is no longer available, I am going to have to rethink being in the points program. It already seems to have lost a lot of it's value when RCI did it's last big change.

Instant Exchange Is Still There -- But The Window Is Smaller.

Does the Instant Exchange/7500 Point exchange program still exist? I no longer see availability and these bargain purchases was why I got a RCI points resale in the first place. If this program is no longer available, I am going to have to rethink being in the points program. It already seems to have lost a lot of it's value when RCI did it's last big change.

Hey, Instant Exchange is how come we took the points plunge also.

About the time that RCI Weeks introduced Pointe Lite (i.e., TPUs), the marketing & biz geniuses at RCI shortened the opportunity for Instant Exchange reservations. When we joined RCI Points, it was 45 days before check-in. Now, Instant Exchange starts 30 days before check-in.

By me, they should have extended the Instant Exchange opportunities to 60 days before check-in. (But what do I know?)

Some of the full-freight timeshare sellers out there are still touting Instant Exchange as a reason to spring for their overpriced points timeshares. Last week 1 of'm whipped out a 6-page list printed out from RCI Dot Com showing lots & lots of weeks available for no more than 9,000 points + exchange fee -- i.e., Instant Exchange.

That particular timeshare seller did not realize that Instant Exchange is only for points exchanges into weeks timeshares -- that straight-points exchanges require the full points value even if I make a reservation today for check-in tomorrow.

I made the mistake of trying to clear that up, briefly, before I came to my senses & remembered that disputing anything with a full-freight timeshare seller only wastes time by prolonging the encounter.

Just about all our timeshare vacations are via Last Call & Instant Exchange. It hurts our feelings to make a reservation for the full TPU or full points value of timeshare week. (Shux, it hurts our feelings to use our own paid-for resort week instead of renting that out & staying in somebody else's timeshare via Last Call or Instant Exchange.) Ever since the window narrowed for Instant Exchange, we have been doing Last Call more & Instant Exchange less. So it goes.
